MVFA, the state's only pollitical action committee for animals, participates in "Canines and Cocktails for a Cause" at the Loews Hotel in Annapolis on June 18th, signing up supporters, telling local politicians they want better animal laws for Maryland---and having fun!

Co-hosted by Loews hotel and Paws Pet Boutique, over a hundred residents brought their dogs and mingled with state and local political contenders, saying that Maryland’s current “backwater USA” ranking of #40 in the nation regarding quality animal welfare legislation must change.

Carolyn Kilborn, chairperson for the group said: “Annapolis residents, like so many Marylanders love animals.  Once they learn what our group is about and how bad the situation is for animals in Maryland, they join us.”

Local businesses provided items for raffles and prizes, while the event highlighted Father’s Day with a “Dad and Dog” look-alike contest.
